Cardiff 1-0 Blackburn: Harris delivers decisive strike for The Bluebirds

Cardiff City eased past Blackburn Rovers in a 1-0 victory on Tuesday at the Cardiff City Stadium. Cardiff were looking for a victory after a 1-1 draw against Burnley. Blackburn, meanwhile, were looking to extend their winning run after a 2-1 victory against Millwall. Cardiff are now in 13th place on the table and have 15 points while Blackburn sit in 6th with 18 points after 13 matches.

After an uneventful first half, Cardiff applied pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Mark Thomas Harris on the 83 minute mark. The match ended with a 1-0 home victory.

Substitutions for Cardiff included Jack Simpson, Mark Thomas Harris, Joe Ralls and Jaden Philogene-Bidace for Mahlon Romeo, Sheyi Ojo, Romaine Sawyers and Callum O’Dowda, respectively. Blackburn brought on Tyler Morton, George Hirst, Sam Gallagher and Bradley Dack, to replace John Buckley, Tyrhys Dolan, Ben Brereton and Sammie Szmodics.

There were bookings for Sheyi Ojo and Romaine Sawyers from Cardiff, and Sammie Szmodics and Sam Gallagher, for Blackburn.

Cardiff will play their next game away against Wigan Athletic, while Blackburn will face Rotherham United at home.
