Cardiff 1 – Birmingham 1: Points shared at the Cardiff City Stadium after draw

Cardiff were held to 1-1 draw by Birmingham down on Saturday at the Cardiff City Stadium. Cardiff were looking forward to meeting again after losing their last game 1-0 to Sheffield United while Birmingham are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. As the table looks today, Cardiff are currently 19th with 50 points from 45 matches, while Birmingham sit in 20th, with 47 points from 45.

Birmingham dominated the first half, with Jeremie Bela giving Blues the lead, 22 minutes in, finishing the first half 0-1.

Cardiff took the lead in the second half, thanks to Will Vaulks finding the net at the 82 minute mark, leaving the final score at 1-1.

For Cardiff, Rubin Colwill, Will Vaulks and Max Watters, came on for Eli King, Ryan Wintle and Thomas Doyle. Birmingham brought on Jordan James and Jordan Graham, to replace Juninho Bacuna and Jeremie Bela.

There were bookings for Mark McGuinness, Cody Drameh, Curtis Nelson and Will Vaulks from Cardiff, and Nico Gordon and Neil Etheridge, for Birmingham.

Cardiff will next travel to Derby County, while Birmingham will face Blackburn Rovers at home.
