Bristol 2-3 Sunderland 3: Black Cats come out on top at Ashton Gate

Sunderland AFC snatched all three points from Bristol City in a 3-2 victory on Saturday, at the Ashton Gate. Bristol arrived at the match looking pick up points after losing their last match 2-1 to Hull City. Sunderland AFC, on the other hand, secured a point against Coventry City in their previous match. As the table looks today, Bristol and Sunderland AFC currently occupy 23rd and 2nd spots in the league, with 0 points and 4 points respectively after 2 matches.

Sunderland AFC started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with an early goal from Ellis Reco Simms in the 4th minute. However, their lead was short lived, as Andreas Weimann equalised for Bristol, 10 minutes in, to take a 1-1 lead into half time.

The Robins started the second half with an intensified spirit, thanks to a goal from Chris Martin at the 51 minute mark. However, their lead was short-lived, as an equalizer from Ellis Reco Simms in the 53rd minute, brought Sunderland AFC level. Sunderland AFC then scored once more and reestablished their lead thanks to a goal from Ross Stewart at the 72 minute mark with a final score of 3-2.

Substitutions for Bristol included Tommy Conway and Nahki Wells for Han-Noah Massengo and Jay Dasilva, repectively. Sunderland AFC brought on Elliot Embleton and Aji Alese, to replace Alex Pritchard and Jack Clarke.

There were bookings for Joe Williams and Mark Sykes from Bristol. For Sunderland AFC, Corry Evans and Dennis Cirkin saw yellow.

Bristol will play away against Wigan Athletic, while Sunderland AFC will face Queens Park Rangers at home.
