Bristol City 1-2 Millwall: Lions come out on top at Ashton Gate

Bristol were defeated at home by Millwall at the Ashton Gate on Saturday. Bristol were hoping to get something from this game after losing their last match 3-0 to Birmingham City whilst Millwall were coming from a 2-0 win against Middlesbrough. Bristol and Millwall currently occupy 15th and 10th spots in the table, with 18 points and 20 points respectively after 15 matches.

The Lions started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Tom Bradshaw gave them the lead just before half-time, saw out the first half 1-0.

Bristol took the initiative in the second half, when Shaun Hutchinson found the net in the 71st minute. Millwall in turn, then responded on the 76 minute mark, grabbing the lead with an effort from Zian Flemming. The final result, Bristol 1, Millwall 2.

Substitutions for Bristol included Tomas Kalas, Nahki Wells, Chris Martin, Cameron Pring and Dylan Wesley Nkongape Kadji for Timm Klose, Mark Sykes, Tommy Conway, Jay Dasilva and Zak Vyner, respectively. Millwall brought on Callum Styles, George Honeyman, Benik Afobe, George Evans and Jamie Shackleton, to replace Murray Wallace, Tyler Burey, Tom Bradshaw, Zian Flemming and Andreas Voglsammer.

There were bookings for Timm Klose and Antoine Semenyo from Bristol, and Jake Cooper, Murray Wallace and Danny McNamara, for Millwall.

Bristol will next play West Bromwich Albion away, with Millwall facing Watford at home.
