Blackpool beat Swansea City with a thumping 1-0 victory on Saturday at Bloomfield Road. Both Blackpool and Swansea arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Blackpool were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run after winning their previous two matches against Stoke City away and Reading at home, by 1-0 and 4-1 respectively. Swansea were coming from consecutive wins against Coventry City and West Bromwich Albion. As it stands, Blackpool are currently 12th with 51 points from 37 matches, while Swansea sit in 16th, with 44 points from 37.

Blackpool started the first half well, with an early goal from Gary Madine in the 5th minute. They then managed to see out the first half 1-0. The second part ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

For Blackpool, Shayne Lavery, CJ Hamilton and Owen Dale, came on for Gary Madine, Charlie Kirk and Josh Bowler. Swansea brought on Nathanael Ogbeta and Cameron Congreve, to replace Korey Smith and Olivier Ntcham.

The referee booked Flynn Downes and Kyle Naughton for Swansea.
