Blackpool 1-3 Hull City: Tigers come out on top at Bloomfield Road

Hull City strolled past Blackpool with a 3-1 win on Wednesday at Bloomfield Road. Blackpool were on the hunt for more points after a 3-3 draw against Sheffield United, while Hull City were beaten 2-0 in their previous match against Birmingham City. Blackpool and Hull City sit 21st, (16 points) and 19th, (17 points), in the league respectively, after 16 matches.

Hull City started strongly in the first half, when Ryan Longman gave them the lead, at 26 minutes. However, the good fortune didn’t last for long. An equalizer from Kenny Dougall, at 31 minutes brought Blackpool level. However, Hull City found the back of the net following a Greg Docherty goal just before half-time, which saw the first half end 2-1.

Hull City continued to apply pressure in the second period and were rewarded, with a goal from Regan Slater in the 79th minute. The match ended with a 3-1 victory for the visitors.

Substitutions for Blackpool included Liam Bridcutt, James Husband, CJ Hamilton and Ian Poveda for Callum Wright, Luke Garbutt, Gary Madine and Rhys Williams, respectively. Hull City brought on Oscar Estupinan, Dogukan Sinik, Brandon Fleming, Sean McLoughlin and Ozan Tufan, to replace Ryan Longman, Jean Seri, Dimitris Pelkas, Cyrus Christie and Regan Slater.

There were bookings for Callum Wright, Gary Madine and Callum Connolly from Blackpool, and Ryan Longman, Regan Slater, Jacob Greaves and Dimitris Pelkas, for Hull City.

Blackpool will next play Preston North End at home, with Hull City facing Rotherham United away.
