On Saturday, Millwall suffered an away defeat to Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park. Blackburn were looking forward to playing again after losing 2-0 to Luton Town in their previous fixture whilst Millwall were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-1 win against Blackpool in their last match. Blackburn and Millwall currently occupy 6th and 16th spots in the league, with 18 points and 13 points respectively after 12 matches.

After an uneventful first half, Blackburn applied pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Tyrhys Dolan found the net in the 57th minute. Rovers looked to have the match under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Ben Brereton, at 63 minutes to establish a 2-0. The Lions in turn, then responded in the 75th minute, grabbing the lead with an effort from Jake Cooper, leaving the final score at 2-1.

Substitutions for Blackburn included George Hirst, Sammie Szmodics, Hayden Carter and Bradley Dack for Sam Gallagher, Tyrhys Dolan, Ryan Hedges and Ben Brereton, respectively. Millwall brought on Andreas Voglsammer, George Evans, Tyler Burey and George Saville, to replace George Honeyman, Billy Mitchell, Charlie Cresswell and Callum Styles.

The referee booked Tyler Morton for Blackburn.

Millwall and Blackburn will next play away to Rotherham United and Cardiff City respectively.
