Blackburn 3 – Derby 1: Narrow victory for Rovers at home to The Rams

Blackburn Rovers snatched all three points from Derby County in a 3-1 victory on Tuesday, at Ewood Park. Both sides came from defeats in their previous league games. Blackburn were looking to improve their league standing after losing their last game 1-0 to Bristol City. Derby lost 2-0 in the last match they played against Bournemouth. As the table looks today, Blackburn and Derby are 4th, (61 points) and 23rd, (24 points), in the table respectively, after 38 matches.
The Rams scored first, with a goal from Ravel Morrison, 28 minutes in to take them into the break 0-1 up.
Blackburn started the second half with renewed vigour, thanks to Adam Wharton finding the net in the 53rd minute. The momentum was now with Rovers, who then scored again through a goal from Tyrhys Dolan, at 59 minutes to establish a 2-1. Blackburn then scored once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Sam Gallagher just before the final whistle to make it 3-1.
For Blackburn, Sam Gallagher, Bradley Dack and Ryan Giles, came on for Bradley Johnson, Joe Rankin-Costello and Reda Khadra. Derby replaced Luke Plange and Festy Ebosele with Jason Knight and Lee Buchanan.
There were bookings for Lewis Travis from Blackburn. For Derby, Ravel Morrison saw yellow.
Blackburn will next travel to Reading, while Derby will face Coventry City at home.
