Blackburn 1 – Blackpool 1: Honours even and points shared at Ewood Park

On Saturday, Blackburn and Blackpool were held to a 1-1 draw at Ewood Park. Blackburn wanted to continue adding points following a disappointing 2-2 draw with Coventry City in their previous game. Blackpool had lost their previous match against Nottingham Forest. As the table looks today, Blackburn and Blackpool currently occupy 7th and 16th spots in the table, with 63 points and 53 points respectively after 41 matches.

Rovers started the game well, with Sam Gallagher giving Blackburn the lead at the 10 minute mark, seeing out the first half 1-0.

Blackpool started the second half with renewed vigour, thanks to an early goal from Marvin Ekpiteta in the 48th minute. The final result, Blackburn 1, Blackpool 1.

For Blackburn, Bradley Dack, John Buckley, Ryan Giles and Ryan Hedges, came on for Tyrhys Dolan, Ryan Nyambe, Scott Wharton and Sam Gallagher. Blackpool brought on Keshi Anderson, Josh Bowler and Richard Keogh, to replace Charlie Kirk, CJ Hamilton and Shayne Lavery.

There were bookings for Sam Gallagher and Harry Pickering from Blackburn. For Blackpool, Kenny Dougall, Gary Madine, Josh Bowler and Callum Connolly saw yellow.

Blackpool and Blackburn will next play away to West Bromwich Albion and Peterborough United respectively.
