Barnsley 0 – Blackpool 2: Visitors ecstatic after win at Oakwell Ground

Barnsley fell to a home defeat at the hands of Blackpool at Oakwell Ground on Tuesday. Barnsley were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to Huddersfield Town while Blackpool are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. As things stand, Barnsley are currently 24th with 30 points from 27 matches, while Blackpool sit in 16th, with 60 points from 27.

Blackpool started the first half well, thanks to a goal from Owen Dale, at 39 minutes to see out the first half 0-1.

Blackpool continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Olivier Casey finding the net at the 66 minute mark. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 2-0 to Blackpool.

Both coaches used all available substitutions. For Barnsley, William Hondermarck, Victor Adeboyejo and Aiden Marsh, came on for Isaac Christie-Davies, Cauley Woodrow and Carlton Morris, Blackpool brought on Jerry Yates, CJ Hamilton and Jordan Thorniley to replace Shayne Lavery, Charlie Kirk and Olivier Casey.

There were bookings for Mads Andersen from Barnsley. For Blackpool, Matty Virtue saw yellow.

Blackpool and Barnsley will next play at home to Derby County and Preston North End respectively.
