VIC 2 – Lecce 1: Giallorossi unable to avoid defeat at Stadio Romeo Menti

Lecce on away loss to VIC at Stadio Romeo Menti on Saturday. Both teams arrived on the back of wins. VIC were looking to continue their run after winning last match while Lecce were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-0 win against Pisa in their last match. As the table looks today, VIC are in 18th place on the table and has 31 points while Lecce sit in 1st with 68 points after 37 matches.

After an un-eventful first half, Lecce took the initiative in the second half, with Gabriel Espeto giving Giallorossi the lead at the 69 minute mark. However, they were unable to maintain their lead, Diaw managed to equalize and take the sides off, 92 minutes in at 1-1. However they weren’t finished yet and Ranocchia made it 2-1 just before the final whistle with a final score of 2-1.

For VIC, Meggiorini, Grandi, Giacomelli, Crecco and Dalmonte, came on for Zonta, Contini, Bruscagin, Lukaku and Cavion. Lecce replaced Blin, Di Mariano, Gabriel Espeto, Dermaku and Gendrey for Helgason, Ragusa, Listkowski, Pablo Rodríguez and Calabresi.

There were bookings for Diaw from VIC, and Lucioni, Gabriel Espeto, Ragusa and Pablo Rodríguez, for Lecce.

VIC will next play US Alessandria away, with Lecce facing Pordenone at home.
