Cagliari 1 – PIS 1: Honours even at the Sardegna Arena

On Saturday, Cagliari and PIS played out a 1-1 draw at the Sardegna Arena. Cagliari were on the hunt for more points after a 2-2 draw against FC Südtirol. PIS were coming off the back of a 3-1 win against Nuova Cosenza. Cagliari are now in 10th place on the table and have 17 points while PIS sit in 11th with 15 points after 13 matches.

Following a goalless first half, whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on PIS who started the second half strongly, with a goal from Morutan in the 51st minute. In the end though, their lead was short-lived, as Lapadula equalised for Cagliari, 68 minutes in. The final result, Cagliari 1, PIS 1.

Substitutions for Cagliari included Mancosu, Zito Luvumbo, Obert, Makoumbou and Zappa for Rog, Pereiro, Altare, Viola and Di Pardo, respectively. PIS brought on Masucci, Sibilli, Mastinu, Ioniţă and Tomás Esteves, to replace Torregrossa, Tramoni, Marin, Morutan and Calabresi.

There were bookings for Nandez and Carboni from Cagliari, and Nagy, Livieri and Calabresi, for PIS.

Cagliari will play away against Frosinone, while PIS will face Ternana Calcio at home.
