Venezia 1 – REG 2: Visitors secure points with win at Stadio Pierluigi Penzo

Reggina defeated Venezia 2-1 on Saturday at Stadio Pierluigi Penzo. Venezia were looking to get back to winning ways after losing their last match 1-0 to Como. REG were coming off the back of a 2-1 win against Genoa. Venezia are now in 19th place, with 9 points from 13 matches, while REG sit in 2nd, with 25 points from 13.

Arancioneroverdi started the match strongly, when Pohjanpalo gave them the lead on the 10 minute mark, ending the first half 1-0.

REG started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with a goal from Canotto in the 55th minute. REG then netted once more and turned the match thanks to a goal from Hernani, 76 minutes in to make it 2-1.

Substitutions for Venezia included Cuisance, Fiordilino, Cheryshev, Novakovich and Pierini for Johnsen, Crnigoj, Kofod Andersen, Pohjanpalo and Modolo, respectively. REG brought on Ménez, Di Chiara, Liotti, Cicerelli and Cionek, to replace Fabbian, Giraudo, Gori, Rivas and Canotto.

There were bookings for Haps from Venezia. For REG, Canotto, Liotti and Ménez saw yellow.

Venezia will next travel to Palermo FC, while REG will face Benevento at home.
