On Saturday, Venezia and PIS played out a 1-1 draw at Stadio Pierluigi Penzo. Both teams arrived at the match with previous defeats in the league. Venezia were hoping to get something from this game, following defeat to SPAL while PIS were beaten 1-0 in their previous match against Reggina. Venezia are now in 16th place, with 5 points from 6 matches, while PIS sit in 20th, with 2 points from 6.

Venezia dominated the first half, when Novakovich gave them the lead, at 40 minutes. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Gliozzi equalised for PIS just before half-time, finishing the first half 1-1. The second 45 minutes ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

Substitutions for Venezia included Haps, Johnsen, Cheryshev and Pierini for Kofod Andersen, Ullmann, Candela and Modolo, respectively. PIS brought on Gabriele Piccinini, Mastinu, Moustapha Cissé and Touré, to replace Sibilli, Marin, Gliozzi and Tramoni.

The referee booked Wiśniewski, Ceccaroni and Modolo from Venezia. PIS had the worst of it though, with Marin, Barba, Ioniţă and Calabresi seeing yellow, and Ioniţă (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

Next up, Venezia are away to Cagliari, whilst PIS will travel to face Perugia.
