Venezia 0 – ASC 2: Visitors at Stadio Pierluigi Penzo secure victory

Venezia on Saturday lost to Ascoli on a home defeat at Stadio Pierluigi Penzo. Venezia were on the hunt for more points following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Brecia Calcio in their previous game. ASC were coming from consecutive wins against Cagliari and SSC Bari. Venezia are currently 18th with 9 points from 11 matches, while ASC sit in 7th, with 18 points from 11.

After a goalless first half, ASC continued to pile on the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, with a goal from Dionisi, at 67 minutes. However they weren’t finished yet and Collocolo made it 2-0 just before the final whistle to make it 2-0.

Substitutions for Venezia included Pohjanpalo, Crnigoj, Pierini, Haps and Bruno for Novakovich, Tessmann, Fiordilino, Ullmann and Svoboda, respectively. ASC brought on Simone Giordano, Mendes and Lungoyi, to replace Adjapong, Gondo and Dionisi.

The referee booked six players. Svoboda, Ceppitelli, Pierini and Wiśniewski from Venezia, who saw yellow cards and Joronen, sent off with a red, as well as for ASC Eramo received yellows.

Next up, Venezia are away to Como, whilst ASC will travel to face Brecia Calcio.
