Ternana 2 – NUO 0: Visitors unable to get win at Stadio Libero Liberati

Ternana Calcio beat Nuova Cosenza with a thumping 2-0 victory on Saturday at Stadio Libero Liberati. Both Ternana and NUO came from defeats in their previous league games. Ternana were looking forward to meeting again after losing their last game 3-1 to Vicenza whilst NUO were beaten 1-0 in the previous match against Frosinone. As it stands, Ternana and NUO currently occupy 12th and 17th spots in the league, with 37 points and 23 points respectively after 29 matches.

Ternana started strongly in the first half, with Ilias Koutsoupias finding the net in the 27th minute. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Donnarumma just before half-time. The score at half time was 2-0. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the game ended 2-0.

For Ternana, Agazzi, Mazzocchi, Salim Diakite and Salzano, came on for Proietti, Ilias Koutsoupias, Donnarumma and Partipilo. NUO replaced Boultam, Väisänen, Kongolo, Sy and Kongolo for Larrivey, Di Pardo, Aldo Florenzi, Liotti and Alessandro Arioli.

The referee booked Proietti and Agazzi from Ternana and Defendi went off with a red card, while NUO’s Giuseppe Caso, Boultam and Sy also received a yellow.

Ternana will next play Como away, with NUO facing Lecce at home.
