SPAL were held to 2-2 draw by NUO down on Tuesday at Stadio Paolo Mazza. SPAL wanted to improve their league standing after a 2-2 draw against US Alessandria whilst NUO were beaten 3-1 in the previous match against Parma. As it stands, SPAL are in 15th place, with 34 points from 33 matches, while NUO sit in 17th, with 25 points from 33.

NUO started the first half well, thanks to Camporese finding the net, 41 minutes in. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Dickmann equalised for SPAL just before half-time, to take a 1-1 lead into half time.

NUO started the second half with renewed vigour, with an early goal from Giuseppe Caso in the 50th minute. In the end though, their lead was short lived, as Esposito equalised for The Little Swallows just before the final whistle. The game ended 2-2.

For SPAL, Esposito, Pinato, Latte Lath, Finotto and D’orazio, came on for Viviani, Jacopo Da Riva, Vido, Melchiorri and Mancosu. NUO brought on Giuseppe Caso, Palmiero, Kongolo, Di Pardo and Pandolfi, to replace Laura, Carraro, Gerbo, Liotti and Giuseppe Caso.

The referee booked Tripaldelli and Dickmann from SPAL. NUO had the worst of it though, with Larrivey, Carraro, Matošević and Michael Venturi seeing yellow, and Larrivey (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

SPAL will next play Lecce away, with NUO facing AC Monza at home.
