SPAL 3 – FRO 0: The Little Swallows on fire, 3 without reply at Stadio Paolo Mazza

SPAL enjoyed a mesmerising home victory against Frosinone at Stadio Paolo Mazza on Saturday. SPAL arrived with the intention of increasing their league score following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Brecia Calcio in their previous game. FRO had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 4-1 victory against AC Monza. As it stands, SPAL and FRO currently occupy 15th and 8th spots in the table, with 39 points and 58 points respectively after 37 matches.

The Little Swallows started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with Dickmann opening the rout, at 8 minutes. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Pinato at the 12 minute mark to see out the first half 2-0.

SPAL continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Esposito just before the final whistle. The game ended 3-0 to SPAL.

For SPAL, Colombo, Vido, Crociata, Tripaldelli and Vicari, came on for Latte Lath, Finotto, Pinato, Mora and Meccariello. FRO brought on Rohden, Cicerelli, Canotto, Barišić and Zerbin, to replace Tribuzzi, Ciano, Ricci, Garritano and Novakovich.

The referee booked Esposito, Zanellato and Latte Lath from SPAL. FRO had the worst of it though, with Garritano, Szyminski and Ricci seeing yellow, and Szyminski (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

SPAL will play away against Benevento, while FRO will face Pisa at home.
