REG 2 – Perugia 3: Visitors secure points with win at Stadio Oreste Granillo

Perugia banked all three points against the Reggina in a 3-2 victory on Saturday, at Stadio Oreste Granillo. Both REG and Perugia arrived at the match with previous defeats in the league. REG were hoping to get something from this game after losing their last match 2-0 to Parma. Perugia were beaten 2-1 in their previous match against FC Südtirol. REG are now in 3rd place on the table and have 18 points while Perugia sit in 20th with 7 points after 10 matches.
Perugia started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Melchiorri found the net, at 18 minutes, to take a 1-0 lead into half time.
Perugia continued to pile on the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, when Melchiorri found the net once more on the 62 minute mark. The momentum was again with Perugia, who then scored again courtesy of a goal from Di Serio in the 74th minute to establish a 3-0 result. However, REG refused to lie down and managed to pull back a goal from Gori, 81 minutes in. REG then scored again and pull-back thanks to a goal from Fabbian just before the final whistle to give a final score of 3-2.
Substitutions for REG included Gori, Cicerelli, Crisetig and Canotto for Hernani, Ricci, Di Chiara and Rivas, respectively. Perugia brought on Luperini, Di Serio and Kouan for Strizzolo, Melchiorri and Iannoni.
The referee booked Majer and Cionek from REG. Perugia had the worst of it though, with Paz, Santoro and Casasola seeing yellow, and Santoro (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.
REG will next play Cagliari away, with Perugia facing Cittadella at home.
