PIS 3 – NUO 1: Visitors to Arena Garibaldi – Stadio Romeo Anconetani leave with nothing

Nuova Cosenza on away loss to PIS at Arena Garibaldi – Stadio Romeo Anconetani on Saturday. PIS were on the hunt for more points following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Benevento in their previous game. NUO had lost their previous match against Frosinone. PIS and NUO are 13th, (14 points) and 17th, (11 points), spots respectively, after 12 matches.

PIS started the match strongly, when Morutan found the net, 12 minutes in. PIS then netted once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Masucci just before half-time and saw the first half out 2-0.

PIS once more applied the pressure in the second half and were rewarded, when Morutan found the net once more, 63 minutes in. NUO in turn, then responded on the 82 minute mark, grabbing the lead with an effort from D’urso so at full time it was 3-1 to PIS.

Substitutions for PIS included Gliozzi, Mastinu, Tramoni, Sibilli and De Vitis for Masucci, Ioniţă, Morutan, Torregrossa and Nagy, respectively. NUO replaced Butic, Merola, Vallocchia, Voca and Larrivey for D’urso, Brignola, Nasti, Caló and Massimo Zilli.

There were bookings for Beruatto from PIS. For NUO, Pietro Martino, Väisänen and D’urso saw yellow.

PIS will play their next fixture away against Cagliari, while NUO will face Palermo FC at home.
