Perugia 1 – Lecce 1: Honours even and points shared at Stadio Renato Curi

On Sunday, Perugia and Lecce were held to a 1-1 draw at Stadio Renato Curi. Perugia were looking to improve their position in the table after losing their last game 2-1 to Brecia Calcio. Lecce were coming from consecutive wins against Ascoli and AC Monza. As it stands, Perugia are in 9th place on the table and has 42 points while Lecce sit in 1st with 53 points after 28 matches.

After a goalless first half, Perugia took the initiative in the second half, thanks to Olivieri giving Perugia the lead at the 67 minute mark. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Coda equalised for Lecce just before the final whistle. The final result, Perugia 1, Lecce 1.

For Perugia, Burrai, Curado, Matos, Beghetto and D’urso, came on for Lisi, Falzerano, Zanandrea, Olivieri and De Luca. Lecce brought on Majer, Helgason, Bleve, Asencio and Gallo for Blin, Listkowski, Gabriel, Ragusa and Barreca.

The referee booked Kouan, Falzerano, De Luca, Olivieri and Matos from Perugia and Kouan (2 yellow cards) went off with a red card, while Lecce’s Listkowski, Pablo Rodríguez, Blin, Calabresi, Tuia and Majer also received a yellow.

Perugia will next travel to Reggina, while Lecce will face Brecia Calcio at home.
