NUO 1 – Genoa 2: The Griffin travel to Stadio San Vito and get victory

NUO on home loss to Genoa at Stadio San Vito on Saturday. NUO arrived at the match looking to pick up more points after losing 3-0 to Reggina in their previous fixture. Genoa had secured a point against Cagliari in their previous match. NUO are now in 10th place, with 11 points from 9 matches, while Genoa sit in 5th, with 18 points from 9.

The Griffin dominated the first half, when Coda found the net in the 31st minute. Genoa looked to have the match under control when they scored again to grab the advantage, thanks to a goal from Strootman in the 37th minute to establish a 2-0. However, NUO pull-back via a Butic goal just before half-time and the first half ended 2-1. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the match ended 2-1.

Substitutions for NUO included Voca, Brignola, Gozzi, Larrivey and Merola for Caló, Rispoli, Ciro Panico, Nasti and Meroni, respectively. Genoa brought on Ilsanker, Yeboah, Yalcin, Touré and Vogliacco, to replace Jagiello, Coda, Aramu, Gudmundsson and Ilsanker.

The referee booked Rispoli and Meroni from NUO. Genoa had the worst of it though, with Bani seeing yellow, and Bani (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

Genoa and NUO will next play away to Ternana Calcio and SPAL respectively.
