On Friday, Como suffered an away defeat to Nuova Cosenza at Stadio San Vito. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were each keen to pick up points. NUO were aiming to improve their league standing following a disappointing 1-1 draw with FC Südtirol in their previous game whilst Como were struggling for form following a draw in their last match. NUO and Como are 5th, (11 points) and 19th, (3 points), in the league respectively, after 7 matches.

NUO dominated the first half, when D’urso found the net, 31 minutes in. The momentum was again with NUO, who then scored again courtesy of a goal from Rigione on the 37 minute mark to establish a 2-0 result. However, Como pull-back just before half-time, with a goal from Vignali, concluding the first half 2-1.

NUO continued to pile on the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, with a goal from Meroni just before the full time, leaving the final score at 3-1.

Substitutions for NUO included Pietro Martino, Meroni, Vallocchia, Butic and Gozzi for Rispoli, Merola, Brignola, D’urso and Ciro Panico, respectively. Como brought on Cerri, Chajia, Jacopo Da Riva, Parigini and Gabrielloni for Mancuso, Faragò, Álex Blanco, Cagnano and Cutrone.

The referee booked Voca, Michael Venturi and Nasti from NUO. Como had the worst of it though, with Binks and Fàbregas seeing yellow, and Binks (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

NUO will next play Reggina away, with Como facing Perugia at home.
