Lecce 1 – SPAL 0: Giallorossi secure 3 points at home against The Little Swallows

SPAL on away loss to Lecce at Stadio Via del Mar on Saturday. Lecce were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two matches in the league. The most recent was against the Ternana Calcio away (4-1), the other to Frosinone at home (1-0) while SPAL had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Nuova Cosenza. As it stands, Lecce and SPAL currently occupy 1st and 15th spots in the league, with 65 points and 34 points respectively after 34 matches.

After a goalless first half, Lecce applied pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Helgason giving Giallorossi the lead in the 66th minute, leaving the final score at 1-0.

For Lecce, Bjorkengren, Dermaku, Helgason, Ragusa and Gendrey, came on for Gargiulo, Tuia, Blin, Gabriel Espeto and Calabresi. SPAL brought on Latte Lath, Mora, Mark Pabai and Finotto, to replace Vido, Pinato, Almici and Colombo.

There were bookings for Tuia and Blin from Lecce. For SPAL, Almici, Raffaele Celia and Mora saw yellow.

Lecce will next play Reggina away, with SPAL facing Crotone at home.
