Genoa 1 – Brescia 1: Victory elusive at Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris for both sides

Genoa were helde ach other to a 1-1 draw by Brescia on Saturday at Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris. Genoa were keen to hang onto their position at the top of the table and extend their winning run after winning their previous two matches against Ternana Calcio away and Nuova Cosenza away, by 2-1 and 2-1 respectively. Brescia, meanwhile, had secured a point against Venezia in their previous match. Genoa are currently 2nd with 22 points from 11 matches, while Brescia sit in 8th, with 18 points from 11.

Genoa found the net first, when Jagiello gave them the lead in the 31st minute to see them go in at half time 1-0 up.

Brescia took the initiative in the second half, when Cistana found the net just before the final whistle. The match ended 1-1.

Both teams used all available substitutes. Substitutions for Genoa included Czyborra, Puşcaş, Touré and Gudmundsson for Hefti, Yalcin, Jagiello and Aramu, respectively, Brescia brought on Labojko and Niemeijer to replace Ndoj and Bianchi.

The referee booked Badelj from Genoa and Badelj (2 yellow cards) went off with a red card, while Brescia’s Adorni, Giacomo Olzer and Cistana also received a yellow.

Genoa will next play Reggina away, with Brescia facing Ascoli at home.
