Como 3 – SPAL 3: Stalemate at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia against The Little Swallows

Como were helde ach other to a 3-3 draw by SPAL on Saturday at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia. Como were looking to get back to winning ways after losing 2-0 to FC Südtirol in their last match while SPAL were looking to extend their winning run after a 2-0 victory against Venezia. Como and SPAL currently occupy 19th and 7th spots in the league, with 3 points and 9 points respectively after 6 matches.

The Little Swallows started strongly in the first half, when Maistro gave them the lead, 8 minutes in. However, they were unable to maintain their lead, Cutrone managing to equalize, 12 minutes in 1-1. Como then scored once more and turned the match thanks to a second effort from Cutrone just before half-time. The first half ended 2-1.

SPAL took the initiative in the second half, thanks to a goal from Moncini, 59 minutes in. However, each side looked hungry to win and Como then found the back of the net, 72 minutes in thanks to Ioannou, taking the score to 3-2. In the end though, their lead was short-lived, as Salvatore Esposito equalised for SPAL just before the final whistle. The match ended wih a 3-3 draw.

Substitutions for Como included Chajia, Enrico Celeghin, Scaglia, Cerri and Arrigoni for Cutrone, Faragò, Fàbregas, Mancuso and Baselli, respectively. SPAL brought on Peda, Zanellato, Finotto and Raffaele Celia, to replace Varnier, Maistro, La Mantia and Tripaldelli.

There were bookings for Cutrone, Faragò, Fàbregas and Álex Blanco from Como, and Tripaldelli, Moncini, Proia and Zanellato, for SPAL.

Como will next travel to Nuova Cosenza, while SPAL will face Genoa at home.
