CTT 3 – FRO 0: Bad day for visitors at Stadio Pier Cesare Tombolato

Cittadella beat Frosinone with a thumping 3-0 victory on Sunday at Stadio Pier Cesare Tombolato. Both teams arrived on the back of wins. CTT were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run, following a 2-1 victory against Lecce while FRO were able to continue their winning streak after a 3-0 win against Reggina in their last match. After today’s result, both teams are on 41 points and sit in 10th and 8th places respectively after 26 matches.

CTT started the first half well, with Beretta opening the rout, at 20 minutes. The momentum was now with CTT, who then scored again through a goal from Tounkara, 25 minutes in to establish a 2-0. CTT then netted once more and increased their lead thanks to a 2nd effort from Beretta just before half-time, finishing the first half 3-0. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the game ended 3-0.

For CTT, Vita, Laribi, Mastrantonio, Tavernelli and Icardi, came on for Pavan, Lores, Antonucci, Tounkara and Branca. FRO brought on Canotto, Novakovich, Boloca, Cicerelli and Manzari, to replace Lulić, Ciano, Garritano, Charpentier and Barišić.

There were bookings for Del Fabro and Mattioli from CTT, and Ricci, Zerbin, Szyminski and Barišić, for FRO.

CTT will next travel to SPAL, while FRO will face Nuova Cosenza at home.
