CTT 1 – ASS 2: Visitors secure points with win at Stadio Pier Cesare Tombolato

CTT on Saturday lost to AC Monza on a home defeat at Stadio Pier Cesare Tombolato. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were keen to pick up points. CTT arrived with the intention of increasing their league score after a scoreless draw against SPAL in their previous match while ASS secured a point against Parma in their previous match. As it stands, CTT are in 9th place, with 42 points from 28 matches, while ASS sit in 5th, with 48 points from 28.

ASS started strongly in the first half, with Mattia Valoti giving ASS the lead in the 14th minute. However, their lead was short lived, as Baldini equalised for CTT, 37 minutes in, finalising the first half 1-1.

ASS continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Ciurria just before the final whistle, which sealed the victory for the visitors.

For CTT, Lores, Laribi, Tavernelli and Antonucci, came on for Vita, Baldini, Tounkara and Pavan. ASS replaced Bettella, Mancuso, Ciurria and Antov with Gytkjaer, Mattia Valoti, Mota and Barberis.

The referee booked Frare, Vita, Branca and Mattioli from CTT. ASS had the worst of it though, with Donati, Mattia Valoti, Carlos Augusto, Mazzitelli and Ciurria seeing yellow, and Carlos Augusto (2 yellow cards) and Donati (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

CTT will next travel to Parma, while ASS will face Vicenza at home.
