Cagliari 2 – Brescia 1: Visitors leave the Sardegna Arena empty handed

Cagliari enjoyed a home victory against Brecia Calcio at the Sardegna Arena on Saturday. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were each keen to pick up points. Cagliari arrived with the intention of improving their league position following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Genoa in their previous game. Brescia were struggling for form following a draw in their last match. Cagliari and Brescia currently occupy 8th and 7th spots in the league, with 14 points and 16 points respectively after 9 matches.
It was an impressive opening from Cagliari, thanks to a goal from Zito Luvumbo on the 10 minute mark. The Islanders then netted once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Deiola in the 33rd minute, to take a 2-0 lead into half time.
Brescia took the initiative in the second half, when Giacomo Olzer found the net just before the final whistle, leaving the final score at 2-1.
Substitutions for Cagliari included Capradossi, Barreca, Viola, Pavoletti and Millico for Goldaniga, Carboni, Nandez, Zito Luvumbo and Falco, respectively. Brescia brought on Huard, Giacomo Olzer, Bianchi, Benali and Van De Looi, to replace Mangraviti, Galazzi, Aye, Jallow and Viviani.
