Benevento 1 – Ternana 2: Visitors secure points with win at Stadio Ciro Vigorito

Benevento fell to a home defeat at the hands of Ternana Calcio at Stadio Ciro Vigorito on Monday. Benevento were looking to continue their run after winning their previous two games against Pordenone away and Vicenza at home, by 4-1 and 1-0 respectively. Ternana secured a point against Frosinone in their previous match. After today’s result, Benevento and Ternana are 4th, (63 points) and 10th, (51 points), in the table respectively, after 36 matches.

Benevento started the first half well, thanks to Barba giving Benevento the lead just before half-time

Ternana staged a comeback in the second half, with an early goal from Donnarumma in the 49th minute. However they weren’t finished yet and Partipilo made it 2-1 just before the final whistle to make it 2-1.

For Benevento, Moncini, Elia, Tello, Insigne and Brignola, came on for Forte, Foulon, Ioniţă, Acampora and Diego Farias. Ternana replaced Partipilo, Paghera, Boben, Martella and Mazzocchi with Pettinari, Celli, Agazzi, Capuano and Donnarumma.

There were bookings for Mattia Viviani and Barba from Benevento, and Iannarilli, for Ternana.

Benevento will next travel to AC Monza, while Ternana will face Perugia at home.
