Benevento 1 – SPAL 2: The Little Swallows, fearless, go to Stadio Ciro Vigorito and win

Benevento succumbed to a home defeat to SPAL at Stadio Ciro Vigorito on Friday. Benevento were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to AC Monza whilst SPAL were coming off the back of a 3-0 win against Frosinone. This left, Benevento are in 7th place on the table and has 63 points while SPAL sit in 15th with 42 points after 38 matches.

The Little Swallows scored first, with Finotto finding the net, at 45 minutes. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Lapadula equalised for Benevento just before half-time. The score at half time was 1-1.

SPAL started the second half with an intensified spirit, thanks to Finotto finding the net again, 51 minutes in, leaving the final score at 2-1.

For Benevento, Letizia, Ioniţă, Diego Farias, Brignola and Masciangelo, came on for Elia, Acampora, Petriccione, Insigne and Foulon. SPAL brought on Tripaldelli, Colombo, Jacopo Da Riva, Vido and Crociata, to replace Raffaele Celia, Finotto, Mora, Latte Lath and Pinato.

There were bookings for Mattia Viviani from Benevento. For SPAL, Raffaele Celia, Mora and Capradossi saw yellow.
