Benevento 5 – Como 0: Bad day for visitors at Stadio Ciro Vigorito

Benevento snatched all three points from Como in a 5-0 victory on Wednesday, at Stadio Ciro Vigorito. Both Benevento and Como arrived on the back of wins. Benevento were looking to pick up points after winning last match. Como were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Nuova Cosenza and Frosinone. After today’s result, Benevento are in 6th place, with 43 points from 25 matches, while Como sit in 11th, with 34 points from 25.

Benevento dominated the first half, with Forte opening the rout at the 11 minute mark. The momentum was now with Benevento, who then scored again through a goal from Insigne, 21 minutes in to establish a 2-0. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a second effort from Insigne at the 38 minute mark to see out the first half 3-0.

Benevento staged a comeback in the second half, with an early 2nd effort from Forte in the 50th minute. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Acampora, 62 minutes in to make it 5-0.

For Benevento, Caló, Brignola, Angelo Talia, Lapadula and Sau, came on for Ioniţă, Letizia, Acampora, Forte and Insigne. Como brought on Nardi, Scaglia, Iovine, Kabashi and Ciciretti, to replace Peli, Álex Blanco, Gliozzi, Bellemo and Arrigoni.

The referee booked Angelo Talia from Benevento. Como had the worst of it though, with Álex Blanco, Solini and Bertoncini seeing yellow, and Solini (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

Benevento will play away against Perugia, while Como will face Brecia Calcio at home.
