ASS 3 – Benevento 0: Bad day for visitors at Stadio Comunale Brianteo

AC Monza strolled past Benevento with a 3-0 win on Saturday at Stadio Comunale Brianteo. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. ASS were looking to get back their winning ways after losing 4-1 to Frosinone in their last match. Benevento, on the other hand, were beaten 2-1 in the previous match against Ternana Calcio. As the table looks today, ASS and Benevento sit 2nd, (67 points) and 5th, (63 points), spots respectively, after 37 matches.

After an un-eventful first half, ASS certainly were out of the blocks quickly in the second half, with an early goal from Mota in the 48th minute. The momentum was now with ASS, who then scored again through a goal from Gytkjaer, 52 minutes in to establish a 2-0. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a 2nd effort from Mota just before the final whistle to make it 3-0.

For ASS, D’Alessandro, Mancuso, Barberis, Colpani and Favilli, came on for Pepín, Gytkjaer, Mazzitelli, Ciurria and Mota. Benevento brought on Tello, Foulon, Elia, Caló and Gyamfi for Ioniţă, Improta, Insigne, Diego Farias and Pastina.

There were bookings for Sampirisi and Barberis from ASS, and Mattia Viviani, Pastina, Tello, Vogliacco and Acampora, for Benevento.

ASS will next travel to Perugia, while Benevento will face SPAL at home.
