Xolos 2 – AME 0: Home fans rewarded with victory at Estadio Caliente
Tijuana’s 2-0 win over América on Sunday, was hard fought at Estadio Caliente. Xolos arrived at the match looking pick up points after losing their last match 1-0 to Tigres UANL. AME had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 1-0 victory against Deportivo Toluca. As it stands, Xolos are in 17th place in the table and have 1 point while AME sit in 11th with 4 points after 4 matches.
Los Xolos started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Lisandro Lopez gave Xolos the lead in the 10th minute, to take a 1-0 lead into half time.
Xolos continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Joaquin Montecinos found the net, at 62 minutes. The match ended with a 2-0 home victory.
Substitutions for Xolos included Renato Ibarra, Jair Diaz and Francisco Contreras for Joaquin Montecinos, Alexis Canelo and Nicolas Diaz, repectively.
