Querétaro 2 – Chivas 2: Victory beyond reach for Los Gallos Blancos at Estadio La Corregidora

Querétaro were held to 2-2 draw by Chivas down on Thursday at Estadio La Corregidora. Querétaro were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to Monterrey. Chivas, on the other hand, had managed to pick up a single point in their matchup with León. As the table looks today, Querétaro are in 18th place in the table and have 2 points while Chivas sit in 14th with 4 points after 5 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Las Chivas, when Sebastian Bouquet gave Chivas the lead at the 26 minute mark. However, their lead was short lived, as Ariel Nahuelpan equalised for Los Gallos Blancos just before halftime to see out the first half 1-1.

Chivas fought back the second half, when Alexis Vega gave Las Chivas the lead in the 81st minute. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Mario Osuna equalised for Querétaro just before the final whistle. The final result, Querétaro 2, Chivas 2.

Substitutions for Querétaro included Rodrigo Lopez, Maximiliano Perg, Mario Osuna and Clifford Aboagye for Jorge Hernandez, Angel Sepulveda, Omar Mendoza and David Barbona, repectively. Chivas brought on Roberto Alvarado, Santiago Ormeno, António Briseno and Pavel Perez, to replace Cristian Calderon, Jose De Jesus Gonzalez Munoz, Hiram Mier and Sebastian Bouquet.

There were bookings for Omar Mendoza and Enzo Martinez from Querétaro. For Chivas, Alexis Vega and António Briseno saw yellow.

Querétaro will next travel to Tigres UANL, while Chivas will face Pachuca at home.
