León 0 – Mazatlán 3: Estadio Leon stunned as visitors seal victory

Mazatlán ease to a comfortable 3-0 win at Estadio Leon. León were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to Monterrey. Mazatlán were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-1 win against Guadalajara in their last match. As things stand, both teams are on 9 points and occupy 10th and 9th places respectively after 8 matches.

Cañoneros started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with an early calamitous own goal from Stiven Barreiro in the 5th minute. Mazatlán looked to have the match under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Nicolas Benedetti in the 9th minute to establish a 2-0. Mazatlán then netted again and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Yoel Barcenas at the 18 minute mark to see out the first half 3-0. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the match ended 3-0.

Substitutions for León included Yairo Moreno, Jose Alvarado, Jose Rodriguez and Elías Hernandez for Osvaldo Rodriguez, Victor Davila, Fidel Daniel Ambriz Gonzalez and Angel Mena, repectively. Mazatlán brought on Jorge Antonio Padilla Leal, Roberto Meraz, Josue Colman, Jorge Mere and Andres Montano, to replace Carlos Vargas, Nicolas Benedetti, Eduard Bello, Nestor Vicente Vidrio and Emilio Sanchez.
