Juárez 0 – Tigres 1: Los Tigres get narrow win away at Estadio Olimpico Benito Juarez

Tigres UANL defeated Juárez 1-0 on Wednesday at Estadio Olimpico Benito Juarez. Juárez arrived at the match looking pick up points after losing their last match 1-0 to Necaxa. Tigres were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Atlas and Tijuana. As it stands, Juárez are currently 9th with 5 points from 5 matches, while Tigres sit in 3rd, with 9 points from 5.

Tigres started the first half well, when Andre Pierre Gignac found the net just before halftime, concluding the first half 1-0. The second 45 minutes ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

Substitutions for Juárez included Diego Rolan, Alan Medina, Maximiliano Silvera and Matias Garcia for Dario Lezcano, Carlos Salcedo, Francisco Nevarez and Maximiliano Olivera, repectively. Tigres brought on Francisco Venegas, David Ayala, Jordy Caicedo and Rafael Carioca, to replace Raymundo Fulgencio, Juan Vigon, Andre Pierre Gignac and Sebastian Cordova.

The referee booked Alfredo Talavera, Javier Salas, Mauro Lainez and Javier Salas from Juárez. Tigres had the worst of it though, with Igor Lichnovsky, Luis Quinones and Andre Pierre Gignac seeing yellow, and Luis Quinones (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

Tigres and Juárez will next play at home to Querétaro and Deportivo Toluca respectively.
