Toluca 1 – Puebla 1: Los Diablos Rojos locked into a draw at home to Los Camoteros

Toluca were held to 1-1 draw by Puebla down on Wednesday at Estadio Nemesio Diez. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were keen to pick up points. Toluca wanted to continue adding points after a 1-1 draw against Juárez. Puebla are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. As the table looks today, Toluca are in 3rd place, with 13 points from 16 matches, while Puebla sit in 5th, with 9 points from 16.

Los Camoteros started strongly in the first half, when Omar Fernandez found the net, at 17 minutes, ending the first half 1-0.

Toluca took the lead in the second half, with a goal from Andres Mosquera, 82 minutes in. The match ended 1-1.

Substitutions for Toluca included Jordan Sierra, Camilo Da Silva, Daniel Alvarez and Alan Rodriguez for Leonardo Fernandez, Claudio Baeza, Carlos Gonzales and Raul Lopez, repectively. Puebla brought on Daniel Aguilar, Jordi Cortizo, Jozy Altidore, Pablo González Diaz and Emiliano García, to replace Ivo Vazquez, Omar Fernandez, Martin Barragan, Emilio Martinez and Maximiliano Araujo.

The referee booked Valber Huerta and Claudio Baeza from Toluca and Jordan Sierra went off with a red card, while Puebla’s Martin Barragan, Gaston Silva, Ivo Vazquez, Daniel Aguilar and Gustavo Ferrareis also received a yellow.

Puebla and Toluca will next play at home to América and Querétaro respectively.
