Villarreal 1 – Seville 1: The Yellow Submarine held to a draw by visiting Los Nervionenses

1. On Sunday, Villarreal and Seville were held to a 1-1 draw at the Estadio de la Ceramica. Villarreal arrived at the game looking pick up points, following a previous defeat to Alaves. Seville were unable to beat Cádiz in a 1-1 draw. As things stand, Villarreal are currently 7th with 53 points from 35 matches, while Seville sit in 3rd, with 65 points from 35.

After an un-eventful first half, The Yellow Submarine took the initiative in the second half, thanks to a goal from Giovani Lo Celso at the 86 minute mark. In the end though, their lead was short lived, as Jules Kounde equalised for Seville just before the final whistle. The final result, Villarreal 1, Seville 1.

For Villarreal, Manu Trigueros, Paco Alcacer, Alfonso Pedraza, Serge Aurier and Nicolas Jackson, came on for Pervis Estupinan, Boulaye Dia, Francis Coquelin, Samuel Chukwueze and Juan Foyth. Seville brought on Nemanja Gudelj, Rafa Mir, Jesus Navas, Erik Lamela and Oliver Torres, to replace Ivan Rakitic, Youssef En-Nesyri, Gonzalo Montiel, Jesus Corona and Joan Jordan.

The referee booked Samuel Chukwueze, Giovani Lo Celso and Etienne Capoue for Villarreal.

Villarreal will next play Rayo Vallecano away, with Seville facing Mallorca at home.
