Mallorca 1-0 Atletico Madrid: Vedat Muriqi goal sinks Atleti

Atletico Madrid fell to an away defeat at the hands of Mallorca at Estadi de Son Moix on Wednesday. Mallorca were looking to pick up points, following a 2-0 victory against Villarreal while Atleti were struggling for form following a draw in their last match. Mallorca are now in 10th place on the table and have 19 points while Atleti sit in 6th with 24 points after 14 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Mallorca, when Vedat Muriqi found the net, at 16 minutes, ending the first half 1-0. Both teams unable to deliver anything further, the score remained at 1-0 at full time.

Substitutions for Mallorca included Rodrigo Battaglia, Clement Grenier, Amath Ndiaye, Abdon and Franco Russo for Iddrisu Baba, Kang In Lee, Antonio Sanchez, Vedat Muriqi and Giovanni Gonzalez, respectively. Atleti brought on Angel Correa, Thomas Lemar, Koke and Sergio Reguilon, to replace Nahuel Molina, Yannick Carrasco, Rodrigo De Paul and Reinildo Mandava.

There were bookings for Iddrisu Baba, Kang In Lee, Inigo Ruiz de Galarreta, Clement Grenier and Martin Valjent from Mallorca, and Nahuel Molina, Rodrigo De Paul and Angel Correa, for Atleti.

Mallorca will next play Getafe away, with Atleti facing Elche at home.
