Celta Vigo fell to an away defeat at the hands of Villarreal at the Estadio de la Ceramica on Saturday. Villarreal were hoping to get something from this game after losing 1-0 to Osasuna in their previous fixture. After today’s result, Villarreal and Celta currently occupy 6th and 10th spots in the table, with 45 points and 35 points respectively after 28 matches.

Following a goalless first half, The Yellow Submarine applied pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Dani Parejo giving Villarreal the lead, 64 minutes in, leaving the final score at 1-0.

For Villarreal, Aissa Mandi, Francis Coquelin, Moi Gomez, Boulaye Dia and Pervis Estupinan, came on for Raul Albiol, Manu Trigueros, Giovani Lo Celso, Arnaut Danjuma and Alfonso Pedraza.
