Valencia 0 – Betis 3: The Green-and-Whites steal the show at the Mestalla

Real Betis on a 3-0 win against Valencia on Tuesday at the Mestalla. Valencia arrived with the intention of increasing their league score following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Athletic Bilbao in their previous game. Betis had lost their previous match against Barcelona. As the table looks today, Valencia are in 10th place, with 44 points from 36 matches, while Betis sit in 5th, with 61 points from 36.

Following a goalless first half, Betis continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Willian Jose giving Betis the lead at the 57 minute mark. The momentum was now with The Green-and-Whites, who then scored again through a goal from Sergio Canales in the 87th minute to establish a 2-0. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Borja Iglesias just before the final whistle with a final score of 3-0.

For Valencia, Jesus Santiago Perez, Goncalo Guedes, Maxi Gomez, Denis Cheryshev and Yunus Musah, came on for Uros Racic, Bryan Salvatierra, Thierry Correia, Hugo Duro and Carlos Soler. Betis brought on Juanmi, Joaquin, Juan Miranda, Edgar Gonzalez and Borja Iglesias for Rodri, Nabil Fekir, Alex Moreno, German Pezzella and Willian Jose.

There were bookings for Omar Alderete from Valencia, and Sergio Canales, Guido Rodriguez and Marc Bartra, for Betis.
