Valencia 1 – Levante 1: The Bats unable to break dead-lock with The Frogs

On Saturday, Valencia and Levante were held to a 1-1 draw at the Mestalla. Both sides came from defeats in their previous league games. Valencia were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to Villarreal. Levante were beaten 3-2 in the previous match against Seville. As things stand, Valencia are in 10th place on the table and has 43 points while Levante sit in 20th with 26 points after 34 matches.

Valencia started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with a goal from Hugo Duro in the 27th minute, to take a 1-0 lead into half time.

The Frogs took the lead in the second half, thanks to Oscar Duarte finding the net, at 81 minutes, leaving the final score at 1-1.

For Valencia, Jesus Vazquez, Dimitri Foulquier, Maxi Gomez, Bryan Salvatierra and, came on for Hugo Guillamon, Thierry Correia, Goncalo Guedes, Hugo Duro and. Levante brought on Enis Bardhi, Marcelo Saracchi, Roberto Soldado, Gonzalo Melero and Marc Pubill Pages, to replace Nemanja Radoja, Son, Jose Campana, Ruben Vezo and Jorge Miramon.

The referee booked eight players. Goncalo Guedes, Omar Alderete, Giorgi Mamardashvili and Hugo Guillamon from Valencia, who saw yellow cards and Jose Luis Gaya, sent off with a red, as well as for Levante Nemanja Radoja, Son and Oscar Duarte also seeing yellows.

Valencia will next play Athletic Bilbao away, with Levante facing Real Sociedad at home.
