Seville to welcome League Leaders, RMA to the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan – Sunday 9:00pm GMT.

Both Seville and RMA currently share Champion’s League qualification hopes, as they sit third and first in the LaLiga, respectively.

Seville arrive at this meeting, having secured 60 points so far this season

Seville will take a huge positive from their recent 4-2 win against Granada at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Also, football is a simple game, first don’t lose, and Seville achieved this now in 16 of their last 17 meetings, a form has placed them in clear contention for Champion’s League qualification. Their position is third in the League and they have 60 points, that is, 16W, 3L and 12D having won 16 games, drawn 12 matches, and lost three meetings.

Playing at home, Seville have won 11 fixtures and drawn four games.

A win in this fixture, would take Seville’s points from 60 to 63, so far this season.

A solid defensive team

Seville have conceded 22 goals so far, so their defence can be considered to be strong. Despite delivering often average performance, their goal scoring stats have been good (44). This is largely down to the efforts of their stand-out attackers – Rafa Mir (3), Papu Gomez (3), and Lucas Ocampos (1).

Seville are no strangers this season to illness and injury and Julen Lopetegui is concerned that Sunday’s fixture could see him without six of his key players.

League leaders R Madrid will seek to win every game, this match is no exception

Can RMA make it three out of three, having turned over Getafe 2-0 and Celta Vigo 1-2 in their last two games?

Also, League leaders RMA keep finding ways to win, having secured 15 victories in their last 20 meetings is astonishing this season, which has contributed significantly to reach the top of the table. They are the team to beat, with 72 points and sitting at the top of the table (current record: 22W – 3L and 6D) having won 22 fixtures, drawn six matches, and lost three meetings.

RMA have won 11 games, drawn two matches, and lost two meetings of their 15 League matches playing away this season.

R Madrid will want to keep the pressure on their rivals as they sit at the top of the table, a win will take them to 75 points and keep their momentum going forward.

Good atacking and defensive team

So far, RMA’s defence has been outstanding, as they have conceded 26 goals. RMA have a good scoring record this season, with 63 netted so far (57 from open play and six penalties). Their stand out attacking players have been Karim Benzema (7), Marco Asensio (3), and Luka Modric (2).

It is likely that three key players will miss Sunday’s fixture, which is something of a concern for Carlo Ancelotti and his RMA team.
