Sunday’s fixture between Valladolid and Betis delivered a goalless draw at José Zorrilla. Valladolid were keen to hang onto their position at the top of the table and extend their winning run, following a 3-2 victory against Getafe. Betis had lost their previous match against Celta Vigo. Valladolid are now in 13th place, with 8 points from 8 matches, while Betis sit in 5th, with 16 points from 8.

Substitutions for Valladolid included Shon Weissman, Juan Jose Narvaez, Monchu, Sergi Guardiola and Zouhair Feddal for Alvaro Aguado, Roque Mesa, Ivan Sanchez, Oscar Plano and Javi Sanchez, respectively. Betis brought on Edgar Gonzalez, Youssouf Sabaly, Aitor Ruibal and Willian Jose, to replace Rodri, Martin Montoya, Luiz Henrique and Borja Iglesias.

The referee booked Sergio Escudero from Valladolid. Betis had the worst of it though, with William Carvalho seeing yellow, and German Pezzella then sent off with a red.

Valladolid will play away against Espanyol, while Betis will face Almería at home.
