Real Sociedad 0-2 Real Betis: The Green-and-Whites storm to late win

Real Betis eased past Real Sociedad in a 2-0 victory on Sunday at the Reale Arena. Both Real and Betis came from defeats in their previous league games. Real were looking to get back to winning ways after losing their last match 1-0 to Real Valladolid. Betis were beaten 2-1 in their previous match against Atletico Madrid. Real are currently 5th with 22 points from 12 matches, while Betis sit in 4th, with 23 points from 12.

After an uneventful first half, Betis continued to apply pressure in the second period and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Juan Cruz, 86 minutes in. They then scored again, pulling level thanks to a goal from Borja Iglesias just before the full time to give a final score of 2-0.

Substitutions for Real included Robert Navarro, Aritz Elustondo, Jon Magunacelaya and Jon Karrikaburu for Pablo Marin, Robin Le Normand, Carlos Fernandez and Alexander Sorloth, respectively. Betis brought on Juan Cruz, William Carvalho and Willian Jose, to replace Luiz Henrique, Nabil Fekir and Paul Akouokou.

There were bookings for Pablo Marin, Robin Le Normand, Jon Pacheco and Mikel Merino from Real, and Edgar Gonzalez, Nabil Fekir, Paul Akouokou and Andres Guardado, for Betis.

Betis and Real will next play at home to Seville and Valencia respectively.
