Real Sociedad 1-4 Barcelona: Lewandowski nets twice in away win for Barca

Real Sociedad fell to a home defeat at the hands of Barcelona at the Reale Arena on Sunday. Real were looking to pick up points after winning last match while Barca had managed to pick up a single point in their matchup with Rayo Vallecano. As the table looks today, Real are currently 10th with 3 points from 2 matches, while Barca sit in 5th, with 4 points from 2.

Barca didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, with an early goal from Robert Lewandowski in the 1st minute. However, their lead was short lived, as Alexander Isak equalised for Real 6 minutes into the game. The score at half time was 1-1.

Los Blaugranas continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Ousmane Dembele in the 66th minute. The momentum was now with Barca, who then scored again through a second effort from Robert Lewandowski, 68 minutes in to establish a 3-1. Los Blaugranas then netted once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Ansu Fati in the 79th minute to make it 4-1.

Substitutions for Real included Robert Navarro, Benat Turrientes, Mohamed-Ali Cho, Andoni Gorosabel and Jon Karrikaburu for Alexander Isak, David Silva, Take, Aritz Elustondo and Mikel Merino, repectively. Barca brought on Ansu Fati, Raphinha, Jordi Alba, Sergi Roberto and Franck Kessie for Ferran Torres, Alejandro Balde, Ousmane Dembele, Frenkie De Jong and Gavi.

There were bookings for Aritz Elustondo and Robin Le Normand from Real. For Barca, Ronald Araujo saw yellow.

Real will next travel to Elche, while Barca will face Real Valladolid at home.
