Betis 2 – Mallorca 1: The Green-and-Whites get the home win against The Vermilions

Real Betis strolled past Mallorca with a 2-1 win on Sunday at the Estadio Benito Villamarin. Both sides arrived on the back of wins. Betis were looking to continue their run after winning last match while Mallorca were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Athletic Bilbao and Cádiz. After today’s result, Betis and Mallorca currently occupy 3rd and 16th spots in the league, with 46 points and 26 points respectively after 25 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Betis, with Alex Moreno finding the net in the 25th minute to see out the first half 1-0.

The Vermilions took the lead in the second half, thanks to a goal from Vedat Muriqi, 75 minutes in. The Green-and-Whites managed to edge ahead with a goal from Willian Jose in the 83rd minute and seeing the game end 2-1.

For Betis, Cristian Tello, Edgar Gonzalez, Willian Jose and Joaquin, came on for Juanmi, Victor Ruiz, Borja Iglesias and Sergio Canales. Mallorca brought on Antonio Sanchez, Kang In Lee, Amath Ndiaye, Rodrigo Battaglia and Fernando Nino, to replace Inigo Ruiz de Galarreta, Take, Angel Rodriguez, Salva Sevilla and Dani Rodriguez.

There were bookings for Victor Ruiz, Juanmi and Hector Bellerin from Betis, and Vedat Muriqi and Rodrigo Battaglia, for Mallorca.

Betis will next travel to Seville, while Mallorca will face Valencia at home.
