Betis 2-0 Granada 0: Betis keep Champions League bid alive

Real Betis eased past Granada in a 2-0 victory on Sunday at the Estadio Benito Villamarin. Both Betis and Granada arrived at the challenge after previous wins. Betis were looking to pick up points, following a 3-0 victory against Valencia whilst Granada were coming from consecutive wins against Athletic Bilbao and Mallorca. After today’s result, Betis are in 5th place, with 64 points from 37 matches, while Granada sit in 16th, with 37 points from 37.

Betis started strongly in the first half, thanks to a goal from Juanmi in the 14th minute. They then managed to see out the first half 1-0.

The Green-and-Whites continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Juanmi finding the net again just before the final whistle. The game ended 2-0.

For Betis, Joaquin, Rodri, Andres Guardado, Willian Jose and Juan Miranda, came on for Nabil Fekir, Sergio Canales, William Carvalho, Borja Iglesias and Juanmi. Granada brought on Njegos Petrovic, Matias Arezo, German Sanchez, Yan Eteki and Alberto Soro, to replace Luis Milla, Jorge Molina, Antonio Puertas, Maxime Gonalons and Santiago Arias.

The referee booked one player from Granada, Luis Suarez.

Betis will next play R Madrid away, with Granada facing Espanyol at home.
