Betis 2-1 Girona: The Green-and-Whites get the job done to continue good form
Real Betis eased past Girona in a 2-1 victory on Sunday at the Estadio Benito Villamarin. Both Betis and Girona arrived on the back of wins. Betis were looking to pick up points, following a 1-0 victory against Villarreal. Girona, meanwhile, had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 2-1 victory against Real Valladolid. Betis are now in 4th place, with 12 points from 6 matches, while Girona sit in 11th, with 7 points from 6.
Girona found the net first, when Martinez Arnau gave them the lead early in the first half. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Borja Iglesias equalised for Betis, 15 minutes in to see out the first half 1-1.
The Green-and-Whites once more applied the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, when Borja Iglesias found the net once more in the 71st minute, seing the match finish 2-1.
Substitutions for Betis included Aitor Ruibal, Willian Jose, Edgar Gonzalez and Paul Akouokou for Martin Montoya, Luiz Henrique, German Pezzella and Sergio Canales, respectively. Girona brought on Samuel Saiz, Manu Vallejo, Toni Villa, Joel Roca and Yan Couto, to replace Rodrigo Riquelme, Valentin Castellanos, Bernardo Espinosa, Aleix Garcia and Martinez Arnau.

Betis will next play Celta Vigo away, with Girona facing Real Sociedad at home.
